From Accountant to Artist? If you had asked me aged 13 what I wanted to be, I would have said ‘Artist’. Well it has taken me a while to get there but I have now abandoned my calculator for a paint brush.

After a career of over 40 years in Finance I have returned to my first love of art and painting. Through the dark days of lockdown, I discovered painting in acrylics and was immediately hooked. I focus on places and landscapes that evoke joy and happy memories. Inspirations are the woods and moors near my home in Sheffield, the dramatic Yorkshire and Scottish coasts and my love of walking and wild places.

Recently, I have begun experimenting with pen and watercolour to produce colourful, rhythmic pieces in my ‘Abstract Riffs’ series.
